THE UNMISSABLE REUNION.
That’s their tagline, not ours. But seriously, if you have never been to Printwear & Promotion before, can you even call yourself a garment decorator?
If you didn’t have a chance to make it over to Birmingham this year, don’t worry, we have documented our entire day so you don’t have to miss out.
WHAT & WHERE IS P&P LIVE?
Printwear & Promotion Live is a yearly, UK based expo for garment decorators. You will find everything and everyone you need in the garment decoration industry including screen printing equipment, embroidery machines, DTG (direct to garment), DTF (direct to film), digitizers, garment wholesalers and a whole lot more.
The P&P expo is based in Birmingham, UK and is easy to access by car, train, bus and even aeroplane.
WHAT WAS NEW THIS YEAR?
This year we saw a huge increase in DTF (direct to film) printers and suppliers. In particular, we spent some time talking to the crew on the Target Transfers stall. Target Transfers sell a variety of heat presses, heat transfer vinyls and even launched an exciting new product this year called ‘Ultra Colour Max’.
‘Ultra Colour Max’ is a large (55x55cm) pre-printed transfer that you can heat press in your studio without the need to purchase large DTF machinery. The selling point for the ‘Ultra Colour Max’ is that there is NO minimum order. You can literally buy just one sheet at a time which is a game changer for smaller printing studios!

WHAT WAS MISSING THIS YEAR?
The biggest disappointment this year was the lack of the fashion show. We brought our best camera gear to the show specifically to capture some backflipping action. Sadly, we came home without any footage. Is P&P worth visiting without a catwalk? Possibly not.
The secondary disappointment this year was the lack of screen printing stalls. While DTF is an important movement in the industry, screen print will always stay relevant as a professional way to decorate garments. In past years we have seen P&P heavily dominated by screen print suppliers with stalls by Permaset, SurePrint, SISS, MacDermid, Adelco, M&R and many more.
WHAT WAS AVAILABLE FOR SCREEN PRINTERS?
Our favourites! Dave Roper and the team at Screen Print World had a stall with everything you need for screen printing for beginners and professionals. This year their display included the Manual Kruzer, Black Flash, Starlight Exposure Unit, Amex Inks, Easiway Chemicals, Eco Frames and loads more. If you want to upgrade your kit or purchase some new inks, use our Screen Print World discount code : CRP5
Screen Print World even had a brand new toy on display, the DTF printer. Although their new DTF printer is exciting, shiny and new… screen print was still at the heart of their stall with everything you need including the knowledge of the team which is one of their best attributes.
WHICH STAND STOOD OUT THIS YEAR AT P&P?
Without a doubt the Stanley/Stella stand was incredible this year. We all know that their clothing is eco-friendly and sustainably made but Stanley/Stella always go the extra mile and made sure that their entire expo stand was sustainably made.
Showcasing their newest outerwear range of clothing, Stanley/Stella have an incredible range of high quality garments which we can’t wait to get our hands on!
Make sure to view our YouTube video where Chessie has the opportunity to chat to Julien at Stanley/Stella about their efforts to create a fully sustainable brand that pushes the boundaries and really has sustainability at its core.
