GETTING AHEAD OF THE GAME WITH ‘ECO SNAP FRAMES’
Screen stretching is something which is usually left to the professionals, but what if you could stretch a professional quality screen from your own studio (or home) as and when you need it? THIS IS A GAME CHANGER!
Eco snap frames have been around for many years however, until now, we have found them hard to source in the UK. Luckily, our usual screen supplier has started stocking the ‘Eco Snap Frames’ and we have jumped straight into testing them out!
WHAT ARE ‘ECO SNAP FRAMES’?
Eco snap frames are easy to use, self assemble frames which come with separate mesh panels that you can put together at any time. This stretching method requires no glue, chemicals or staples… Thats correct, no glue, chemicals or staples! And they hold an incredibly high tension which provides a professional finish for both manual screen printing and automatic printing.
WHAT DO I NEED TO STRETCH MY OWN SCREENS AT HOME.
We advise getting the ‘Eco Snap Frame’ starter kit which includes the tensioning tool – use our discount code for Screen Print World : CRP5 – Once you have purchased your first frames and tensioning tool, going forward you should only need to purchase mesh panels to keep your screens fresh.
You will need to choose which mesh count you want your panels to be. If you are new to screen printing, we advise using a 43t mesh (110 US) for t-shirt printing. If you are doing high detail designs you could also use a 63t mesh (165 US).
If you are serious about good quality screens, we recommend purchasing a tension meter to measure the tension of your mesh. ‘Eco Snap Frames’ have a reputation for having super high tension which is great for screen printing consistently. These screens will need some time (roughly 12 hours) to relax. Using a tension meter will help you understand when your screen is ready to go into production and also when it is time to change the mesh.
